DAY 1 SUMMARY- SENIOR'S NTL'S 2004
The first day of competition at the Seniors NTL began with (at the risk of sounding corny) a beautiful sunset and bright blue sunny skies.
By 3:30pm though, the sun was gone, the bright blue sky was gone and there was rain, thunder, lightning and a slight breeze...well, it was a gale. While the ATA tournament staff ran around in the wind and rain, grabbing signs and banners that were flying away (much to the amusement of the spectators), the touch football continued on.
The storm passed within just a few minutes and though the fields were no longer dry, the touch competition was just as good, and when the sun came out and the games finished for the day, the sunset wasn't too bad either.
After just three rounds of competition, the ladders already look more even than the Open and 20 years division.
While the Open and 20 years divisions were dominated by the Sydney Mets, Gold Coast Sharks, Brisbane City Cobras and the odd Southern Suns finals appearance, it is a much more even affair in most of the Senior Divisions and there are divisions where it is already fairly obvious these titles will be taken by a different permit.
Mens 30 years- Day 1:
The Mens 30 years is one division that is following the general pattern of the Open Mens division. The Mets and Sharks both recorded three wins on their first day, with several teams recording two wins, leaving a close, evenly spread ladder at the end of day one.
The Mets look like one of the strongest teams, with several title winners from their Open and Mixed divisions fronting up again today in the Mens 30 years side.

Womens 35 years- Day 1:
The Northern Territory struggled on the first day of competition and it looks as though they will struggle against the other four teams.
The other matches were not quite so predictable. The Cobras and Hornets won both of their matches, although most games were relatively close and tomorrow should be an interesting day.
